BJ Notes is a program to save Notes and Code Snippets on a particular subject. Categories are used to group specific items of a topic. Each Category can have many Items about that particular Category.

Working with BJ Notes
Note: Some Images have been cut down from their original size.

CATEGORIES

Click the Category button in the Toolbar to open the Categories Window.

Add A Category
Enter new Category and click Add Category button.
New Category is added to the List.

Edit a Category
Select Category to be edited. Click the Edit Category button. Make change. Click Save Edit.

Delete a Category
Select Category from the Category List that is to be deleted. Click the Delete Category button.

ITEMS

Click the Items button in the Toolbar to Open the Items Window.

1. Select Item from the Category List

2. Enter the Item description and then enter or paste into the Data text area the information to be saved.

3. Click the Add button to save the Item for the selected Category.

Show Current Items
Will display a Modless Form with a list of existing Items for the Selected Category.

Editing Records

Right click on an Item and select the Edit Record menu option.

An Edit Record Window will open and display the Item and Data to be edited.

Edit the record and click the Save button.

Delete a Record

Select the Delete Record menu option. A confirmation message is displayed for the Delete Function.

Copying the Data in the text area

Right click in the Data text area and a popup menu is displayed.

Click Select All to select all the text or simply use the mouse to select desired text.

Select Copy from the popup menu and selected text is copied to Clipboard.

SEARCH

1. Type in the text to Search for.

2. Selecting the Items radio button will search in all the Item fields in the database.

Selecting Data radio button will search through the Data text area fields.

3. Click the Search button.


Select All and Copy to Clipboard are obtained by right clicking in the Data text area.

Selecting an Item in the Items found List will display the Category it belongs to in RED text above the Found Items List. The current selected Found Item displays Split Pane as being its Category.
