Android Question Help with 2x16 LCD board for ANDROID IOIO

I have attached the "MainActivity.java" from a LCDController app. The complete source code is available from :

Not being a java programmer I need help replication in B4A. I want to sent 2 lines of text to the display through the an IOIO-OTG.
I already have communication working with the IOIO via Bluetooth in a simple B4A program.

why not use the program you cited in your link? If you download and unzip the IOIO-LCDController zip file and locate the apk file in the bin folder (it's called IOIO-LCDController.apk). You can download that apk to your android device via the adb bridge and test the IOIO connection. You can then type in data with this IOIO-LCDController program. Do you have the connection scheme to connect to the LCD display?
