B4R Question A newbie Question

Hello,

I want to try the b4r. I have stg in my mind. I want to retrieve a data from mysql server via a php file and reflect the results to a digital screen. I think what I need is , ( I already have the digital screen) a wifi module esp8266 and rhttputils . Is this right ? if yes, is this board good to go ?

Yes and yes.

I recommend you to also but an Arduino (or Arduino clone). They are quite cheap and can be helpful for testing when something is not working.

That's good news thanks ! I already have an Arduino but that gives me another question , is it possible to build something without an arduino or arduino clone ? I thought we always needed an arduino to make something for example is it possible to use a digital screen and a temperature sensor without an arduino to display the remp on the screen ( it must not be possible as we have to install the code on arduino board ) .

Definitely. You should use ESP8266 or ESP32 without an Arduino board.
