In the last week my apps have started crashing when running on 1 of my test machines which is running Android 4.0.4.
I eventually pinned this down to FirebaseAdmob, which seems to close the app immediately after trying to load an ad.
Further investigation showed that any app from the Play Store that showed banner ads would crash on this machine.
Can anyone shed any light on what is happening here?

And suddenly, they all start working again! This was very bizarre.
The only suspect I can think of is that it was to do with the default Consent for Admob in the EU. I am in the EU, as are many of my users, but do not currently display a Consent dialog.
I did run the Admob Consent sample with my own details, so possibly this somehow reset my settings? Who knows!
