Android Studio can be used to create 'android libraries' (as opposed to java libraries) and it creates them using the .aar file format.
    The .aar file contains:
    • /AndroidManifest.xml (mandatory)
    • /classes.jar (mandatory)
    • /res/ (mandatory)
    • /R.txt (mandatory)
    • /assets/ (optional)
    • /libs/*.jar (optional)
    • /jni/<abi>/*.so (optional)
    • /proguard.txt (optional)
    • /lint.jar (optional)

Previously an android library would have consisted of a .jar file and optionally a 'res' folder.

Does b4a support using .aar format android libraries?
