    Hello

I have been asked to write an app that displays information on multiple screens. My idea is to write the control app in B4A and for the information to be sent to specific Raspberry Pi's running the display app written in B4J. At this point I have no experience of B4J or Pi's so am not sure of the feasibility of what I am suggesting. Any communications between the devices needs to be direct as the eventual location of the screens does not have access to any network or wifi.

    All thoughts/suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

    Big Dave

How will the device connect to the Pi if there is no network available?

The only way I can see of connecting the devices together is with a direct wifi connection or Bluetooth. I have not established if B4J can use direct wifi or bluetooth yet but the pi can use a Bluetooth or wifi dongle. If these are possible options could you please tell me if B4A can connect to more than one device at the same time.

    Many thanks for your help.

Raspberry pi most probably doesn't support direct wifi.

You can add a wifi or bluetooth module and then use them to connect to the device (you can use the device hot spot feature to create a local wifi network).

You can connect to multiple devices at the same time.

You are confusing wifi direct with regular wifi. Your board supports wifi and you can easily communicate between this board and one or more Android devices assuming that they are all connected to the same local network.

There is no wifi direct. Only wifi. There are many examples in the forum that shows how two devices can be connected over the network.
