B4J Question B4J app and target machine Java requirements

When I distribute a .JAR file, is it correct that the destination machine (Windows, OSX, Linux) must probably have installed the same or newer Java RE (of my PC) to run it ?
If yes, how can I give to a non expert customer some easy guide to check and install what is needed ?
Can I do something by code to help the customer ?

I've never needed it but wouldn't it be easier to just make an installer that includes your java RT version?
