Beta Demo Ini file Editor...

This app is intendent to be a full INI file editor/creator for use on the DEVICE.

There are a lot of valid options for the desktop, but I found none for the device, so I took it in my own hands...

This is only a demo version, and therefore some funcions are disable and/or unfinished...

Only the ENGLISH.TXT file has all the textes used in the app, but I included the others so that if someone is willing to translate, please do...but I might have a few more lines of text to add to this...
Any other languages are easy to add, by editing the INI4PPC.ini file...

It uses mainly the built-in context menu, so most of the editing actions are accessible tought it (tap and hold)...
I'm really looking foward for all your feedback, as my opinion on my app can be very partidary...

Thanks for the time to try this...

Nice Job, i really like the + before the items
(how did you do that)
I was hoping to find the spb file, but i'm assuming you are going commercial with this app?

To show a bit of support i've translated the english.txt to dutch, should be pretty accurate, but if there are other "dutchies" willing to take a look
it wouldn't hurt.

Also i saw a typo in the English.text
it states "A T T E N C I O N !"
It sounds French, it should be Attention
:)

Yes I intend to go on a "DONATE" kind of scheme, BUT will make available to Forum users, as they ask me, personalzing some items...

This wy I can make sure to know who found my work interesting enought...

Basically any language can be used, providing the correct entry on the ini file, the correct(ly) named txt file and Flag image...
PS. thanks for pointing out the typo.....

Hope to have it fully working in two weeks, as it's the vacation season, so less time to code...
I will also add a ini extension association exe, based on Erel's example...

What are you first views of the app?
Any suggestions?

I will build the ini files using the basic ini struture...
Google for ini wiki...

Hi Paulo,

Here is the French text file.

Why do you use 4 times the word WARNING, wouldn't one be enough.

Another typo in the English file:
You must first create a new iNI file Project !

Best regards.

Yes it would, but adding text into variables and remembering the var number that contain the word one wants is hard..
but before release the text files and variable will be reviewed...
Thanks for the typo...

Suggestions?
Hmm...
I would change the start of the app to include a notification
so the user knows that application is ready, but only if ArrayLen(args()) is 0
you could do something like "welcome to ...etc." or ask the user what they want to do "Open existing ini / create a new one" (or both)

I'm running your app on an emulator, but the loading does take a couple of seconds, is there anyway to show the form first and have the app load after Form1.Show?
This might increase user acceptance, on the other hand the load time might also have to do with the emulator
:)

Maybe gray-out the "add comment" option when a key is selected.
same goes for all the "add" options when "comment" is selected.

If you can figure out how .sbp files work you might even be able to create a new IDE using this layout..

Anyway good job.

-=edit=-
Just loaded it on my Diamond, it runs a bit faster ten the emulator
But the "enter new value" part is apparently created for QVGA ...
Using the force QVGA would also mean that the screensize would be smaller which is a shame, maybe this is a nicer option:

I thank you all for the translation, but the app is NOT finished yet and a few more text lines may be added to them.
When the app is ready I will prompt you for transalations...

Hi guys ...

My INI editor is almost finished and I hope to release it next weekend...
As I promised, I will be giving this app free for the forum members, as long as they have more than 25 posts...
But now I need your help, translating the txt file, and further along the week, with the help file...
So heres the file, wich I would like it to be translated to the following languages:

English - √ (English correction by Zennerdiode)
Spanish - √ (Español by Manu)
German - √ (Deutsch by Specci48)
Italian - √ (Italiano by Maxim)
Japaneese
Russian - √ (Русский by Elrick)
French - √ (Francais by Klaus)

Any other language is welcome, and I will include it in the package.
Also do translate the language name itself...
Ie: Portuguese = Português ; Spanish = Español (I think(?))

Please do point me any grammar or spelling errors..
I proud myself of being a good english speaker/writer but it's not my home language...hell, even with it I make mistakes......

Thank you very much Specci48, your file is now part of my project, hope to count with your help with the help files text too...
I'll try to keep them small, so that the job of translating is not too much exaustive...

Don't give someone a finger because he might take your whole hand... :D
Just kidding... ;)

specci48

We have almost the exact same saying....:
"Don't give someone your hand, or it will take your arm..."
And this is quite true...

You can be sure that from my point of view you'll get my both hands for the translation of the help file... :)
