CAnnot install Java SDK

Hi,

I'm trying to set up Basic4Android on a (new to me) laptop. Got Basic4Android installed but cannot install the Java SDK (jdk-7u3-windows-i586.exe). I've downloaded the install package but when I run it nothing happens. Can anyone offer any suggestions, please?

Have you configured B4A as shown HERE?

I've downloaded and run the Java setup but no interface appears, and I cannot point B4A to the javac.exe as no javac.exe has been installed.

...and when I run the Android SDK it finds Java 1.7 in windows\system32\java, which I guess is not right.

Check if you already have a JDK installed. If yes then you can use it.

Maybe there is a permission error. Try to run the installer by right clicking on it -> Run as administrator.

Hi Erel,

tried run as, same results. The process apears for a few seconds in Task Manager and then disappears and nothing else happens. Tried disabling antivirus and fire wall etc.
Running out of ideals.

It seems the installer got hung up, try using THIS tool to uninstall Java and then reinstall it again normally.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I found this:

and am trying the later build. The installer is working properly and has appeared (yay) so I hope it is compatible - will report later.
