Checking for a web connection

I know how to check whether or not a web update has taken place properly, but is there an easy way of finding out whether or not there is a viable wi-fi connection before trying to go ahead with an update?

You can use ServerSocket.GetMyWifiIp to test whether there is a valid wifi connection.
