Enhancing email java app ...

I want to enhance the k9 email client written in java for android. I am
wondering could this be done in some way with basic4ppc? I am thinking that
on one hand i may need to change the source on the other hand augment the
code in some way directly or indirectly via event handling?

This will be quite difficult. You will need to wrap the application code in a library and then add the library to Basic4android. While wrapping a library is quite simple, wrapping a complete app (in a usable way) is difficult.

In theory, since basic is essentially translated into java, i was thinking it could be possible to develop enhancements side by side. Loading a java app, enhance it using basic, and have the basic translated to java source. But, i guess, in practices something like this is not possibe.
