Foreign Characters corrupted in SQLite.

I created an Excel spreadsheet with text in it, then imported it into an SQLite via a csv file.

French and Spanish characters with accents did not come in correctly.

For instance:
Enregistreur vidéo
became
Enregistreur vid�o

I can Open the CSV in notepad and the characters show correctly.

Encoding of the database is set to UTF-8 (the default). Should this be different?

Probably the csv file was not in UTF-8 format.

Unfortunately when Excel saves a csv file, it is encoded with the ANSI code.
What you can do is to load your csv file with notepad and save it with UTF-8 encoding.
