Garbage collection

Is there a way to force the system to perform GC ? I think Agraham wrote about it but I can't find it.
My program starts to work very slowly after about 20 min.

Forcing a garbage collection is almost always unnecessary or unhelpful.
Make sure that you are not keeping references to objects that you no longer need.
