I noticed that Gmail no longer allows an archive containing a JAR file. It's become difficult to send a library to Gmail users.

What I do at work to avoid the email filters is to change the suffix to .bmp and send with instructions to rename it back. Sometimes, that's the only way to get code to vendors.

too bad that a decent anti virus/spam appliance is checking content and not just the extentions so it will still remove it.

webserver http link, ftp, dropbox and the likes are a better option I guess.

Any archive format. ZIP or other.

I have a server so that's no a big issue, but creating the link, asking people to use it, then downloading the file is less convenient than sending directly the file by email.

    I have the same issue

    fully agree.

I now always use my Dropbox account to share a file.
