Here is a very simple environment for learning the fundamentals of programming.
It's a system based on building blocks for code construction. Ideal for early learners.

I recommend the Maze demo which has good progression for children.

Thanks Klaus. I haven't used AppInventor for a long time. MIT have certainly improved the feature set and usability since the last time I looked.
