How do you disable ICS/Honeycomb's menubar?

and scroll down to the section headed 'Controls for system UI visibility' You will see that they (google) have decided to make it very difficult to carry out such task. Why? nobody will ever know.

Arg. I'll settle for removing the "overflow" button? I had a user complain about it.

The button at the top or bottom?

It would be on the bottom bar. The top one doesnt show in my app.

Not sure which button you are referring to. However it is not possible to hide the bottom bar.

The overflow button shows up as vertical dots like a :

This is the menu button. You can remove it by adding a targetSdkVersion attribute to the manifest file: Galaxy Nexus and Ice cream Sandwich support - Page 2

that shows menu items, not sure if it has other uses but it doesn't show if there are no menu items defined.
