how to get a google maps image based on given coordinates

Hi guys...

I need the help of the gurus..
I need to download and show an image from google maps based upon a given coordinate and ceter the image to that coordinate.
Also interested in zooming into that image by code.

i never used services or coded something to download a file, so i'm clueless on how to go about this one.
