The sense I get from some of the comments I've read, is that the new forum software is in the toilet. The old software was more complete and less cumbersome to use. I, for one, would have voted to keep the old software over the current catastrophe -- had we been asked.

Can you upload different forum skins? The default skin is way too bright for my eyes. hard to read alot of things for me. (my eyes cant see colors that are very close together)

Several weeks have passed since we moved to the new forum. Like any change, some people will be happy about it and some won't. Personally I think that the new forum is much better in almost every aspect.

More importantly, now that I have some statistics data I can say that the forum activity as measured by: new users registrations, new threads, new posts and logged in users is up by about 25%.

Unlike the old forum this forum software is maintained and we will see new features and improvements in the future.

Initially I thought the new layout was garish and horrendous. Too bright and over the top. Almost as if Jony Ive had created it!
Still, I am used to it now, and it has a lot more functionality.

More important is having a good community and author support. In that respect we are doing well here.

It took a few days to get accustomed to the new forum software. But it is defenitely better. Love it!

I'm 52 years old, and still not retarded (i hope).
Everytime i see..."things change, you have to adapt". Sorry, but that's not an argument.
When somebody has a problem with the new forum, let's find out what his/her problem is, and let's find a solution.
If you have nothing better to say as "things change, you have to adapt" then please.....

Well, I have mixed feelings. I like the software, its more "modern" looking and kinda keeps the flow with the rest of the net right now.

I just didnt like the colors, Although the colors have changed a bit since my last post and its better.

it wasnt broke, he still fixed it by making it better :) Well maybe it was broke, hard to say from a backend point.

I just dont like color schemes that are so close together. its hard to read. Need more contrast, something that other software does.

For example: The current scheme uses an all white (pretty much) background with dark text. My eyes are hard to adapt to that, i would rather have a darker background. (navy blue, midnight blue, or even black) with white text. Its easier to read due to my bad eye floaters. (I am myoptic, eyefloaters are common). Just IMHO.
