Android Question Image disappears from ImageView in Designer

When I reload a layout the picture I've loaded into an imageview doesn't show up. But if I change the size of the imageview by dragging one of the handles it does show. But then the image file still doesn't show in the property list for the imageview???

What do you mean when you "reload" a layout exactly?

I save the layout and close the designer. Then I open the designer with the layout and the image file does not appear in the imageview until I pull on one of the handles to change the size of the imageview then the picture shows up in imageview but does not show in the imageview properties. However I now see that with one of the files this doesn't happen - it works ok ie: I can save the layout close it, then open it and voila! its there where it should be. So now I'm going to try to see what's different about the files that work ok and those that don't ... all are jpegs.

Solution. The image files that don't work are too big. When I compress an image file from 3 mb to 56 kb seems to work fine.
