A slightly off topic note: "Baud rate" is considered an obsolete term, "transfer rate" or "bit rate" is better. This is because Baud rate is not the actual transfer rate, it's the number of times a connection can change state per second, and nowadays, almost all types of connections where the term is used (Bluetooth, modems...) pack several bits into each state change, usually by having more than just two voltage levels. For example, a v34 modem has a baud rate of 3420, but a transfer rate of 33800.
As this is a confusing difference to a layman, transfer rate is preferable, as it actually describes what anyone not constructing hardware wants to know.
