Install a new font and use in a Label?

I have an ongoing project in which I would like to install a different font than what comes with my phone and display the text in a multi-line Label. I've seen the font somewhere online (sort of like the Comic Sans MS font.) I want to simulate text as handwritten on a post-it type note.

I believe the Android font similar to Comic Sans MS is in the public domain but it was several months back when I found it. Has anyone loaded any external fonts in their program and used them in a label?

Any help would me appreciated.

Have a look here, I've used a font I created myself on a variety of views without issue.
