is there a way to access the settings of the android system access, for example, to set the ringtone, or the time for the display timeout? Many thanks for your help in advance.

You can access some of the settings.
I believe that you cannot change the two above. You can send an intent that will show the power screen settings. You can also use Phone library to acquire a wake lock and prevent the device from sleeping.
