Android Question Lock Screen

I have my lock screen setup to use a pin for access. Is it possible to write an app that will let me turn this feature on and off via the app? I don't know how big of a security issue this might present. The reason is I'd like to call up my app and press one button to turn off the Lock Screen feature while I am at home. Then, when I leave the house, I'd like to press one key on my app and have the Lock Screen enabled again. Is that possible or do security features prevent that sort of thing from happening via an app?

You can use the administrator library to programmatically change the password or set it to an empty password.

Note that changing the password will not work on Android 7+.
