Make a PRO version extending the LITE version

Hello!

I am trying to understand how this is done with many applications. The LITE version includes everything but has some limitations and usually shows adds.

You see that the developer has also uploaded PRO and you go to its page. There you are said that PRO doesn't work without LITE so you have to keep it installed.

My question is - how is the "activation" process implemented?

Provided that the SD card is of the main shared ares between the two apps, maybe it's on the SD card. Can you give any ideas?

A very simple way would be to have the lite version already contain all the pro features but inaccessible (e.g boolean true or false to show menu items) then check to see if the pro application is installed and if it is enable the previously inaccessible menu items.

So, I am just checking whether the package of the PRO version exists in installed apps?

An application I use does has a PRO version which does not have an icon in the apps menu. Do you how is this achievable?

Also, I can create a B4A project with the same package name(it is visible in Market, oops Play), same application name. Won't I hack this way. I know there will be just few people capable of this, but I am asking.
