Problem creating tablet emulator

I'm just getting into tablet (rather than phone) development and accordingly have been trying to set up a suitable AVD emulator.

I can set the appropriate size with no problems, but then two issues arise. First, I'm not sure how to force the emulator to open in landscape rather than portrait mode; and second (and more serious) I get this message:

The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Which API version are you using?

Note that you do not really need a tablet emulator to build tablet applications. You can use a regular phone and test the layout with the abstract designer and UI cloud.

I've not tried the Cloud yet, I must admit; what I actually want to do is to use the Designer (rather than connect an actual device with B4A Bridge) and that calls for the Emulator to be running. It's API Level 10.

If you have a real tablet device then I highly recommend you to use it. The tablet emulator is very slow. Try to use a higher API. Android 3.0 (api 11) was quite unstable.
