Retreive Time/Date from a Remote Server

Can any one tell me what sort of command I could use to retrieve the time/date value from either my hosting service or from a govt hosted site like The official US time (NIST & USNO). I need to get that value and store it in variable!!!
I have to compare that value to the device value!!
