Android Question Screen Size Landscape / Portrait

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab-3 and in Landscape Mode it is 1024 x 575 and in Portrait mode 600 x 999

I would have thought that these number would match?
Meaning in Portrait it would be 575 x 1024

Is this common on Android devices or just Samsung?

The screen size is the available size for the user.
There are 25dip for the status bar and 25dip for the title bar.
From your values it seems that you have either no title bar or no status bar.
In landscape 600 - 25 = 575 and in portrait 1024 - 25 = 999.

You are correct No Title bar.

Feel like bozo that I did not realize this.
