Non so se Bill Gates sappia programmare per Android o che ancora si ricordi come si programmi, avrà imparato qualche altra professione nel frattempo.

It is always a work related to technology not too far from programming.
However when you come back to Italy you may find Bill Gates waiting for you at home

I'll enjoy of music, the people, less the food , but it would have been a way to meet someone of this community.

The food is the ONLY reason to go to Memphis, I'm afraid. The good blues and bluegrass music has long since left. There are still good musicians based in and around the area but you'll be hard-pressed to hear them live in your 3 months there. It's not a bad place, but not nearly what it used to be 20-40 years ago and the stories of it are the best part of it, by far. As far as the people, it can be a rough place.

When will you be there? This Fall? Fall and early Spring are the best times for Memphis.

September and October are uncertain times for weather in Memphis, especially the last several years. You'll have heat (mid to upper 90F) and humidity (mid 60s to 90s RH) to deal with until the 'switch' anywhere from late September to late October. Hopefully, you'll get to see some nice fall foliage change before you leave but I doubt it. It's been dry in the region and that mutes the colors.

That region is nice but you'll be right on the edge of 'good' and 'bad' areas for interesting sites. Travel East and North into Kentucky if you get the chance. Forget heading West into Arkansas (except for Northern Arkansas) or NorthWest into the bootheel of Missouri. South into Mississippi gets more … interesting … the further South you go but not necessarily in a good way. If you like to gamble, then Tupelo, Mississippi is close.

If you run out of things to do in Memphis, there is the Marching of the Ducks at the Peabody Hotel.
