Looking at starting to contract for android applications, so curious if anyone has contracted their work with basic4android and roughly what did you charge?
Really want to get the corporate world excited about this development platform so we can have more work in the future (since we have the most experience using b4a).
Thinking (out loud for now...) about a package deal of Android app and website (for information) for a set price.

Thanks,
Rick

I'm interested to know the answer to this as well, but I dont think the corporate world see this in the same light as we do.
They will probably not be interested in the development platform, only the final product.
What the will be interested in, will be how many platforms you can cover (Web, Android, iOS, BB, WP7) and they will be happy to get as much coverage as possible.
The pricing also depends on how complex the app is...
Let me put a random figure I think an android app should cost a corporate company...maybe 1000 GBP = 1500 USD?

You could have a look at freelance job sites
like this to see what people are paying..

b4a's fast development time might help though.

I would be interested in this information also.

I have looked at some Freelance sites, but I think the local cost-of-living has a great effect on what people charge for a given job.

I work with contractors on IT software projects. In general my company will charge £750 per day for a developer. So it really depends how many days you expect the app to take you. A weeks work in this context would be worth £750x5 = £3750

That sounds like too much. £750 per day? Almost £100 an hour? What company is that and what kind of software do they write?
...and can they hire me ;)

So that's what you do @andymc (Andy McAdam). I always thought that you were a games developer or something like. I just presumed that because of your YouTube videos.

@thedesolatesoul if that firm hired you, their productivity would probably shoot up 100% :)

Thats certainly the going rate for a company, perhaps cheaper for individual freelancer, around 350-450 per day. I used to do iphone apps and would normally be charging around 2.5 to 3.5k. 1 week is not much and chances are things will get added/changed.
