iOS Question [SOLVED] Toolbar gone when I compile as Release

I'm using toolbar buttons (as provided by the Designer), at the bottom of the screen. When running as debug, everything works nicely. However, now that I'm ready to publish to the App Store, I compiled and installed as Release, per Erels instructions.

When I start the app on my iPhone, the bottom area is just black. Nothing there at all. I've tried compiling it again, and also running the debug version again - same result.

I feel I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure out what it is. Any ideas?

And, as normally happens, I found a clue after posting the question.

...and added a Sleep(300) as the first thing in Application_Start - and now it works just fine. Now, that is confusing. But it works, so I'll take it.

Sleep is not needed here.

You should call:

NavControl.ToolBarVisible = True

After you show the page.

I'm not sure I understand. If it's not needed in Debug, why is it needed in Release? (Same could be said about the Sleep(), obviously.)

Is this simply a bug in either the Debug or Release compilation?

You should set it after the page is loaded. You don't see this in debug mode as the page is loaded in two steps (to allow debugging Application_Start sub).
