I have not dabbled with vr yet but i would like to know if it is possible to have the spoken words only selected from a specific set of words. Hopefully this would cut down on errors. If so any examples i can be pointed to before i start

TIA

Hi Smee,

Very good question, since I want the same function.
Last week I have been searching the web for this and, no surprise, I haven't found anything that pointed me in the right direction.

TIA,
Helen.

Hi Smee,

last week i used VR very often. I also haven't found to select the words before - but you get not only one but many results in a list. So it's easy to check this list for allowed words and you have, what you wanted.
I made a list with the possible choices for the user and he can choose a word or retry oder cancel.

Hi Reinhard,

Thanks for the reply, I realise that a list of words is given to choose from but i want to eliminate that list by having a dictionary of words so that only one of those is used. This should enable faster user interaction which is what it is all about.
The user does not really want to say a word and then choose from a list the word they meant.

A bit like the car ad, A woman saying her name to a voice recognotion operator, She is saying Moira and the vr is replying HELLO MORON.

If the word Moron is not in the dictionary list then there is a better chance that the word spoken will be recognised more often
