Since my LG V10 died, I used Galaxy S7 Edge and just upgraded to S9+ yesterday. So far so good.

the best device I have ever had is my HTC HD2!
First it ran Windows Mobile (and my Basic4ppc apps)
I had managed to write several of my first smartphone apps with basic4ppc on my father's htc prophet.

The phone I current have is hisense a2 pro which has dual screens. One is an amoled screen and another is an eink screen.

i agree that for much people a smart phone is unnecessary.

I try to stick with three or four year old technology. I buy refurbished or used-like-new. I have always had very good luck.

My current favorite is an LG G4 that I got for about $130. I love the buttons-in-the-back.

I just got an iPhone 6+ refurbished - just to have an Apple. This is the most expensive phone I have ever bought at about $240. It arrived in pristine condition.

The LG G4 has the iPhone 6+ beat, hands-down :D.

Barry.
