Is there any way of using native dlls in desktop code? For example, if I wanted to translate a game which uses CARDS32.DLL into B4PPC, is there any direct way of referencing that dll or do I have to write some sort of wrapper?
I don't have, and I don't want C# or VB, I'm not fond any C based lanuage (despite being forced to become rather good at them!), and VB is just irrelevant when I can normally do all the same stuff in the much safer Delphi environment. Trouble is the free versions of Delphi don't support .Net or .Net CF easily, dang, but for "on my PC only" and "purely for my use" progs such as I normally write, .net is pretty irrelevant, so it isn't normally an issue for me. Getting another language, particularly one I don't like, seems like overkill for just a very occasional need.
So does anyone already have a wrapper for CARDS32?
Even better would be a wrapper for Qcard32.DLL, a VB written dll that also has a Delphi interface and has much more functionality (as well as being free).
So why do I want to translate something from my beloved Delphi to B4PPC? Well that leads into the next question. Is there any device equivalent of CARDS.DLL? (Now you see where I'm going with this?) If there is, is it directly usable from B4PPC?
Thanks to anyone who knows anything about these dlls.
