WOW, I really blew it. That is a super deal

But they have some limits (1gig file size means no movies)

Yes, I have 2 different QNaps that I could do this for. But when we go on vacation they all get shut down and stored off site.

Wanted something to just store movies and photos that are meaningless if lost.

I'm old and feel any outside connection to my NAS would also mean a someone could hack in - no thank you

Any storage could be Hacked whether it's yours at home or buying space.
But if they get a hole in a NAS that you only keep movies on like you wrote before, it might not be the end of the world.

But the cost would always be less than a commercial cloud and give you more space.

A hacker knows where he has to attack, he would hardly go to attack an HD containing movies and music.
