an easy way.
Install IIS on any windows machine, its in add/remove windows components. preferably a server with an external domain name. It MUST be in the same domain. now set up basic authentication, disable anonymous access. Now just place some little file at the root of the site. Eg. OK.text. IIS is a free web server that comes with all versions of windows.
On your android just do a regular web download using the credentials. If you don't get an error or the download then the user/pass is valid. A 403 error or b4a error means incorrect. :sign0136:
To do this takes maybe 1/2 in all.
