Yeah, very soon Apple also is going to sue IBM because Apple invented typing, sue Disney for using the word "Mouse" in Mickey Mouse, yes, Apple invented/patented everything.
Apple and its "i" products like iPhone, iPad, iPod are only for iDiots.
According to the judges the way of zooming in on some tablets and smartphones from Samsung looks too much like a technique that Apple invented. Even with the black front and icons Samsung violates patents from the U.S. Apple. The claims from the South Korean company that Apple in its turn had violated patents of Samsung are, according to the jury, unfounded.
There will obviously be an appeal — Samsung said as much clearly in its cheeky statement about the loss:
“It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies,” the South Korean consumer electronics giant said. “This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple’s claims.”
If they were talking about some clever patents with real innovation maybe it would be okay, but honestly, this was so childish it felt like two toddlers playing in a sandpit.
And then supported by the judge, jury, the judicial system and the messed up patent system.
What? So I am not allowed to use bounce effects in my app they will sue my ass off!
Really...this is extermely detrimental to innovation bickering about details that dont really matter.
Now that there are rumours of Apple entering the LCD/LED TV market, I am worried if we will ever see another TV that is rectangular shaped and NOT made by Apple
I just wanted to share this amazing statement that should sum up everything:
“I invented nothing new. I simply assembled the discoveries of other men behind whom were centuries of work. Had I worked fifty or ten or even five years before, I would have failed. So it is with every new thing. Progress happens when all the factors that make for it are ready and then it is inevitable. To teach that a comparatively few men are responsible for the greatest forward steps of mankind is the worst sort of nonsense.” Henry Ford

This would be like Goodyear suing Michelin for making round tires. Look at where the trial was held. Nothing like having a sympathetic jury. Doesn't Samsung sell Apple components? If so then they should tell Apple to pound sand.
Excactly, that was less dangerous. If you look at it the headquarters of Big A and Google are just 10 minute drive from each other, and it would have been a US company against another US company. That would have split the jury and the outcome might have been quite different.
Never bought an Apple product and never will. I'd buy 10 other products before I'd even take one given to me free of charge. I don't even like that Android has to pay Microsoft and others fees. If Microsoft wanted to be in the mobile world they should not have ripped off Win Mobile adopters and made their stupid Windows Phones. Win8 may be good and the text message reading and sending over bluetooth were great on Win7 Phones, but that was it...I hated everything else about it. People need to come up with real ideas and solid products to show for it within 6 months or no patent.
