Best way to display text

I need to put quite a few pages of text into an app. Since I am a newbie I am uncertain of the best approach so I thought I would seek advice. What I am looking at is a sort of interactive e-book. Possibly with buttons etc embeded within text although this is not essential depending on programatic design limitations.
