calling .Net functions directly

I dont know much about .net but Im getting the impression that Basic4ppc uses .net calls for some things - for example graphics?

Am I right in thinking that functions such as
form1.circle .... uses a .Net library call? Is the Baisc version much different than the raw .net procedure?

My question is can I call the .net function directly from Basic4ppc myself to speed things up, or is that exactly what Basic4ppc does?

No - only via a library.
