I hope a physisit shows up here.. This question has to do with special relativity theory of Einstein.

B4X has been adopted by NASA.
Let's hope they follow the forum too. :D:D

The answer really, is that the car cannot get to the speed of light as the amount of energy required to keep accelerating trends towards infinity as you get closer to speed of light. Time would also seem to speed up outsider the car to the driver, making them feel like they are travelling fast through time, but the outside world would see the car stretched int he direction of travel and the car headlight shining in front of the car at the sped of light.

A car is travelling towards point B with the speed of light. The driver turns the lights on.. Which one arrives @ point B first, the car or the light?
The light will arrive first, because emitting the light will produce a thrust in the opposite direction that slows the car down.

<JOKE>
Is a moot question if the car at any time passes through Victoria, Australia because the police would have sprung it with a speeding ticket. Although perhaps today is your lucky day: the police are in the middle of a work-to-rule protest and you might get away unhindered.

i've been there and the police cars don't travel at the speed of light anyway, so i'm sure you're safe because time never passes through the real answer to the question is in #18 relativity is circular after all so all that would be seen is the backend of the car driver
stretched in the direction of travel and the car headlight shining in front of the car at the sped (sic) of light
you should come here you can pretty much
get away unhindered
all of the time......But I thought that Stephen Hawking had debunked Einstein anyway...so the answer is relatively moot and mostly a question of gravity...

I was going to point out that they don't need to be moving in order to flag you down, but then realised:

1/ the police won't see you coming (or, more accurately: by the time they do, you'll be gone and - as you point out - uncatchable!)

2/ their speed-measuring radar won't work on speed-of-light targets, not to mention the destructive effect of the concentrated return echo

Not sure about Einstein being debunked.

i think its in A Brief History of Time (?) - - - and a bunch of other weird squiggles on a white board.....

radar won't work on speed-of-light targets
no-one seems to have mentioned the Doppler Effect on the direction of travel of light, {ah cat's among the pigeons} time to go sleep.... cheers.

Actually, gravity has a significant effect on the travel of light in the universe, which is the grist of quantum theory, hey @Beja I just made the physics class ....

now to switch of the light ......

the light from the headlights, before reaching the maximum speed, will have to start from zero and accelerate
Wouldn't the headlight beam speed start from the speed of the headlight of the vehicle, thus no acceleration required?

However I walk, so I don't care at all
But Italians walk quite fast. And sometimes I don't see Italians walking, so presumably those Italians that are walking must be walking at the speed of light, otherwise I'd be able to see them.

ol I sound like the Democrats trying to impeach Trump

Speaking about trump here is appropriate (?) because we should remind him that his reality show was The Apprentice NOT Big Brother Household and when We B4Xers all ;do; relativity with gravity it's Enisteinian gods throwing throwing Hawking's dice.

Ref: The Ascent of Gravity by Marcus Chown ISBN 978-1-474-60187-0 which contains the reminder that it's Einstein's Theory of Gravity not Relativity so thus the car is always falling not moving forward.... RIGHT @Beja?

I don't read all posts.
For the driver, when he turn lights on, he can't see if lights is on or not.
Because the car run at light speed and when he turn light on, the light can't go faster the speed of car.

the light. driving so fast will need a lot of fuel so the car needs to stop several times at a Gas Station. :D

Actually I spoke of the Democrats, but I agree with your "(?)" in that even an oblique reference to DJT is enough to trigger some people. I need to tighten up my compartmentalization.

(He sure is heck funny, though ;-)

When Bill Clinton was asked about how he kept up with everything that a president needs to he said he compartmentalised everything meaning he could shift between things without interference. Would that mean you're in good company? I like the DJT moniker sounds like a nightclub Jay.

Boy! This Special Relativity stuff can Lead Anywhere {excuse the Pun}

Studying relatively theory is like studying Chinese language.. You must forget the way you used to understand things.. Otherwise you will never get it.

Lol. If those were his words, then he was talking about boxes. Good liars are masters at double entendre.

The only difference between liers and politicians is that, politicians have evidence for their lies.

Gee that would make one or three of ours geniuses. Oh, wait, double entendre is a relativistic thing - here lies are just truth....

The only difference between liers and politicians is that, politicians have evidence for their lies.

Ah! Not according to Thumper Trump and the Republicans this week, or was it last week, no, last month. His is a Really Special Relativity. Have you seen the cartoon with his hair swept up into a KKK 'hat'..... :D Hey, that sounded like a good name for a Bluegrass band.

The real master of lies lies lies dirty tricks and avoiding jail is right here in my country in the form of our one past president. Now he has an even more personal version of special relativity.

They should all watch the video @Lahksman posted. That was fun. Oh, um, was it true? Is the earth flat? Where's my toast?
