I use Total Commander. I bought a licence around 1993. It's the best file manager on earth (I don't know about the universe, but I think so too!).
TC is a Swiss Army knife of all sorts of tools. If you are a TC guru like me, you can do anything incredibly fast. TC is the first program I install on any PC I work with, and I feel like a blind man with a walking stick if left with Windows Explorer.
Since I use Linux, I run TC under Wine, but with my own integrations with the underlying EXT4 file system, TC under Wine is 99% as good as in Windows. It works very well indeed.
Double Commander is a good alternative, although not as advanced if you're a TC superuser.
