How many companies did you work for?

1 for the last 8 years, contracted for same company 3 years prior to that.

Before that, just side-gigs, nepotism, TV repair, etc. Nothing ever "on the record" so I cant count em. the TV repair one almost was, but i didnt last long enough because this was 08.

So sorry about that. Actually, the best thing is to be self-employed. I worked for 2 companies in 10 years as a Chartered Accountant. In 2013, I entered into programming world. Since I resigned from my job in 2017, I have focused on developing business management software for clients using vb.net. It was few years ago I discovered B4A and I really fall in love due to its BASIC nature.

I have a lot of projects to use B4A for. I just need time to play along.

So, if you are creative in nature, self-employed could be the best. Though it takes time to build a structure.

From age 13 to about 36 maybe 10 or 12 then started my own company with a partner and we have been at it ever since.
Larger company I ever worked for had about 120 employees and it was way to structured for me.

A story:

I was listening to a speaker. He kept talking about all the different businesses he started over a 10 year period. He kept failing but kept trying. I was thinking, "I really like this guy! He is an entrepreneur like me!"

Then he said, "Finally, I became mature enough to work for somebody else."

I don't think I will ever be mature enough to work for somebody else??.

Well, from 22yo to 33yo the same company, wich gave my nickname. It was the local cabletv company.
Then 2 years in a Vehicle Control Center Systems vendor/installer.
So in Portugal, 2 different companies.
Then moved to France... 3 years in the (big) company that brought me here, 2 years in a almost family size company, then 4 years in my actual company, then 1 year in a direct concurrent, then covid and my take on being my own boss, and finally returning to were I now am, going on my 2nd year...
So in 25 years of activity, I've had 6 different bosses
