Been doing a load of searching on t'internet. but no solid solution yet. Plenty of questions asked on the same subject though so it isn't just me. The only solution so far seems to require root. Some thing I was trying to avoid for a while longer.
The worse bit is the 'View Apps' button simply shows the Downloaded apps list, so no way to find which app is causing it.
I have got exactly the same issue. What a horrible update from Samsung. Personally I am looking at re-flashing my S4 to a Google Experience version but I don't know whether Knox will prevent me from changing the boot loader or cause other issues.
For the time being I have 'cleared data' and 'force stopped' Knox app (the 416Kb one).

I have been reading through lots of posts at XDA regarding Knox, and it seems you can re-flash the S4 with Google Edition. All that happens is a permanent flag is set to 0x1 thus voiding the warranty of the device. More here:
