Question: deleting DropBox account

Hi all,
I want to delete (for some reasons) a dropbox account that opened just a few minutes ago.. no files not anything in it.. my question: will deleting it also deletes the gmail account associated with it?

Asking because at some point on the deleting process a message popped up saying:
"Please enter your password to delete the account mygmailaccountname@gmail.com:" (not dropbox).

The Email Adress is your User Account at Dropbox, like Beja in this Forum. It will only delete your Useraccount.

Thanks but if my user account is deleted then the email account will be deleted also. unless I am missing something.

Dropbox cannot delete something at gmail

it's more like "delete the account that uses the email ...@gmail.com as login"

Hate Dropbox, not the first time they present misleading diologs. Sign up and they want to read all email contacts. I mean it is online storage.
