I would like to have sub directories in DirAssets. I read the forums pertaining to this question and it seems possible if I manually add the Directories under the "Files" folder where my project is stored. but when i am placing a folder with the name pics in my dir.Assets folder, it is not recognized by B4A

Right-click in a blank space on the "Files Manager" tab in the IDE and select "Sync Folder".

Hi JohnC, thanks for the info, however it is not working here, i have added a folder name pics by using add group option in the file manager tab in ide, and then copied my pics to that folder through ide tab. It is working fine, but when i go to my Files folder of my project, i dont see any pics folder over there. The image files are there in the Files folder but there is no pics folder over there.

From what I remember, "Add Group" does NOT add a "disk" folder, it just creates a "visual" folder for you to "visually" organize your files into different groups.

Yes this is correct. but that way all the pics are physically just lying there in the Files folder

Maybe as a work-around, name the files with a prefix like:

housepics_1.png
housepics_2.png
drivewaypics_2-lane.png

Where "housepics" and "drivewaypics" are the names of the folders you wanted to use.

Otherwise, post #3 by KZero shows a method that is not fully supported but may work for your situation.
