Where does my computer get the time from?

I think my computer(s) just look out of the window to find the time. ( I can see the Royal Observatory in Greenwich from the lounge )

Now there's a weird situation - is your local in the east or the west - so if you take your laptop with you Google will Never know where you are - that would mess with location services.....would love to see and experiment with a machine on "the line" (or lets go to the 180 line and see if Windows can figure out the date and time). the ultimate time and space thought experiment.....

I am to the west of the prime meridian. Longitude -9 seconds ( -0.0025 degrees )
