Android Question Application finish from memory

I searched and read a lot inside the forum and built a lot of test with different code from examples but with not sucess. I beg your pardon if the question is very easy...but its a problem for me.

I want to finish an application and clear it from the system.
I use Exitapplication and the app seems to close .

But if I push the device activities button I can see it running, I can "tip" and it will open again ...
Because my English is not good I will try to explain: As you all know , the Android device-a phone for example- has a button where you can see the apps running and select the one you want.
I want to CLOSE totally the app .In that way I am sure it lost all data .

Please, how can I do that ? Is it possible?

it seems the best way is to use Activity.Finish as Exit Application can be mistaken for a crash and the OS may try to restart processes.
