Hi there...

Well, exploring the world of vibe coding, ahem, AI Assisted Engineering. What have you vibe coded today. Share it with us.

Get the component Library

[B4X] [B4A] B4XDaisyUIKit - Native Components inspired by DaisyUI & Tailwind

Hi Fam Please note the source of truth for all the working examples for this library will always be the latest demo source code from github/google drive, use that rather as a reference point for your development. The library is still under development and sometimes things change and perhaps...

[Web] Shop Stock Taking App With Companion Mobile App - Vibe Coded

Hey there So I decided to try vibe coding a completely new web app using DaisyUI between everything Im trying to relearn in b4a. Just when I was about to present this, I was just requested to make it single user, multiple stores. Phew. Below is the single user single store version. So this is...

[B4XDaisyUIKit] SaaS Analytics Performance Dashboard (AI Generated)

Hi coders I have been testing the B4XDaisyUIKit Skills App creation process with the skills that are being created and updated. I must say I am happy with the direction this is taking. With a simple prompt one is able to have a fully funning app. Whilst this is just basic stuff at the moment...

I wonder can you realy vibe code in Β4Χ? I mean when you have to use the designer this it's not vibe coding anymore.

Let me remove the ambiguity about this so that I dont create confusion. Have renamed the title because its not "Vibe Coding" anyway because I do and own the structure of each of these experiences.

The issue about vibe coding is "not looking at the code" the AI generates and hardening it and proof reading and trusting everything AI does without guardrails and structure, which is really the opposite in all my cases above.

If the AI understands the structure of the layout files, it should be easy to use AI assistance. There is a MCP here that apparently does that but I have not checked it as yet.

AI technology is advancing so quickly that I find it impossible to keep up with it. By the time I’ve learnt something, something else has come along that does it better and faster. And that’s when I lose track of the code.

True for regular views. But if you use B4XDAISYUiKit, the vibe code is almost real

The B4X designer is not a problem for vibe coding. Neil DeGrasse Tyson says that if you face a problem you cannot go through, then just go around it. What I did to overcome this problem was to use the jsonlayouts tool by @Erel. I added the necessary lines on top of the Main form in B4J or Main class in B4A in existing projects, and I pressed the Ctrl+S to create the jsonlayouts. Then I fed the json files created to Codex and prompted it to note the structure of each json file. If it is fed with a lot of Json layouts it learns to create jsonlayouts itself too. It can also use B4X custom views, XUI Views etc if it has learned them. Then you describe what you want it to create and it creates the jsonlayout. You take the jsonfile and put it in the jsonlayouts folder of the project. You press Ctrl+S in the IDE and it creates the new layout file (.bjl or .bal according to the IDE). Then you just add the new layout file to the project and BOOM you 're done. Then I turned both into skills. For B4i layout you just copy the B4A layout through the designer. This is for creating the layout.

Then the route for vibe coding is open since you can prompt it to use the views that are described in the json file. For custom views you can follow the same procedure to make it learn the way you code it for use.

P.S. Just make sure you give the examples for each IDE so that Codex can learn them in a different chat, so it is easy to create the skill.

I feel the same way. You cannot easily keep up with the rate of change of current technology niche.
