Amazon recently released the In-App Purchasing API for general availability. As a developer who hasn’t yet downloaded the SDK, you are invited to explore the Quick Start Guide, where you can see how to implement IAP in as few as five steps. The guide is available by signing into the Developer Portal at

Amazon’s In-App Purchasing solution allows developers to offer digital content and subscriptions--such as in-game currency, expansion packs, upgrades, and magazine issues--for purchase within apps. We’ve created a number of resources to help you integrate, including documentation, sample code, tutorials, frequently asked questions, and more, all available on the Developer Portal.
Just over a month after launch, developers have indicated that Amazon’s IAP solution is providing a valuable new tool for monetizing their apps. Consumers have also reacted positively to the service, citing the trust and convenience of the Amazon 1-Click payment technology.
