Hello,

I am recieving too many requests to make a widget for my android app , but I don't know how widgets work with ads. I mean , if there is a widget on home screen , user will not open the app and ad will not show this would decrease the ad revenue.

Is what I think correct ?

Perhaps, but I would also see it this way:

The widget will be designed so that the displayed info will be useful but at the same time not complete, and the user will still need to open your app to see the complete info.
Also, it can work as a hook, because user will be more aware when something 'relevant' happens and it will work as some kind of alert, leading him/her to open the app. ;)

I agree with @JordiCP , and want to add one more thing:

If you get many requests for it, and you're not doing it, you're giving a potential competitor a way of maneuver you out of the market by actually giving the users what they want. So to do the widget, per your users wishes, might be considered a cost to keep the competitors away. (Consider it a cost because you might loose a little bit of ad revenue. Which is a lot better than losing it all to a competitor.)
