Android Question B4a Bridge does not find Samsung j3 Android 7

I've just got a new phone and tried connecting to it for the first time. I've enabled unknown sources and installed the latest B4aBridge from google play, but I can't connect. It doesn't appear on the connect list and typing in the IP address (192.168.1.45 so a standard address) shown on the B4aBridge app times out with an incorrect IP address message.

Has anybody else got one of these phones? Are there any hidden security options that would stop it connecting?

I can connect to other devices so I know the bridge is working.

As it is a new phone: Did you restrict any ip addresses (router: MAC-address, firewall, etc.)? Sometimes I forget these things ;-)

No, no changes to the router or internal firewall. Sounds like something I might do though

Check if there are (new) app settings coming with Android 7 (or maybe Samsung). Another idea: try this example (pc/phone) https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/threads/b4x-network-asyncstreams-b4xserializator.72149/ if your phone can connect to your pc and vice versa.

It's taken me this long to get the USB connection working so I could run the Network example, I don't usually bother with the USB drivers as I use the bridge. Good news is that once I ran the example (which connected at the second attempt) and restarted the phone, B4a bridge now finds the device and all is working as it should.
